TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
WIN A TRIP TO THE UEFA WOMEN’S EURO ENGLAND V NETHERLANDS COMPETITION PROMOTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Promoter
Visa Europe Limited, a company registered in England (company no. 05139966) with its registered office address at 1 Sheldon Square, London W2 6TT (“Visa”). Visa has engaged Sid Lee (company number 10186055 []) (“Agency”) to assist with the administration of this Promotion, including prize fulfilment, but Visa remains solely responsible for the Promotion.
2. Entry period
The Promotion opens for entry at 12.00 on 6th June and closes at 11.59 on 10th June (“Entry Period”).
3. Eligibility
Entry is open to legal residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales only) who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. The Promotion is not open to any employee or contractor of Visa, any Visa group company or affiliate, any promotion administrator or any prize provider, or the immediate families and households of those employees or contractors, or anyone else professionally involved or associated with the Promotion. The Promotion is not open to any person who is subject to financial or other governmental sanctions or who appears on any sanctions list, including the UK Sanctions List available at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-uk-sanctions-list). Visa reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who is or becomes subject to sanctions or is added to any sanctions list at any time. Visa reserves the right at any time to require proof of eligibility in such form as Visa reasonably considers necessary.
4. How to enter
To enter the Promotion, eligible entrants must do the following during the Entry Period: (i) follow @visauk on Instagram and continue to follow @visauk for at least two (2) weeks after the end of the Entry Period; (ii) like the Promotion post; and (iii) tag one (1) friend the entrant would bring along in the comments section of the Promotion post. Entrants must set their account to “public” at the beginning of the Winner Notification Period to ensure Visa can contact them if they win. Accounts may be returned to “private” following the end of the Winner Notification Period. Entrants who do not already have an Instagram account must register an account to participate.
5. Submission guidelines
Entrants must comply with the following (“Submission Guidelines”):
(i) entries must not be, or contain any material which is, or may reasonably be considered to be, threatening, defamatory, inflammatory, obscene, indecent, offensive, profane, abusive, pornographic, sexually explicit or suggestive, violent, derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, discriminatory in any way or otherwise unlawful;
(ii) entries must not include any confidential information or personal information concerning any person (subject to (iii) below);
(iii) any comment published by the entrant must not include any identifying person other than the entrant unless that person has given written consent (a copy must be provided to Visa if requested);
(iv) entries must not defame, misrepresent or make disparaging remarks about Visa or its products or services, or about other people, companies, products and services;
(v) any content submitted must be the entrant’s own original work and must not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights or other rights of any person;
(vi) by entering the Promotion, each entrant confirms that they know of no information, facts or circumstances related in any way to the entrant that could reasonably be considered damaging, detrimental or embarrassing to Visa by virtue of the association between Visa and the entrant arising from entry into the Promotion.
6. Entry and prize limits
A limit of one (1) entry per person applies to this Promotion. Entries submitted in excess of the limit will be disregarded. Visa reserves the right to disqualify anyone found to have entered more than once, including by using multiple accounts.
7. Prize
There is one (1) prize to be won in this Promotion, consisting of the following prize elements for the winner and one guest (the “Prize”):
(i) Return economy class flights to Zurich, departing from and returning to a major commercial airport near the winner’s home address;
(ii) Two nights double standard room accommodation at a minimum four-star hotel in Zurich, Switzerland including bed and breakfast;
(iii) Round-trip private transfers between the airport and the hotel;
(iv) Hospitality tickets for the winner and guest to attend UEFA Women's Euro 2025 group stage match at Stadion Letzigrund, Zurich between England v Netherlands.
8. Prize conditions
The following conditions apply to the Prize:
(i) The winner and guest must each be at least 18 years old at the time of travel;
(ii) The outbound flight for the Prize will be on or around 11th July 2025 and the return flight will be on or around 13th July 2025.
(iii) All travel bookings must be made by Visa or its appointed agent – Sid Lee. The choice of all Prize elements, including airports, flights, hotels and event tickets, will be at the sole discretion of Visa. All dates are subject to airline and hotel availability.
(iv) The winner and guest are solely responsible for ensuring that they can travel at the appointed times on the relevant dates. No alternative times or dates are available.
(v) The winner and guest are solely responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports and any required visas, ESTAs or other travel documents or permissions necessary to permit entry to the destination country.
(vi) All elements of the Prize must be used by the winner and guest in the same itinerary. The winner and guest are not entitled to receive compensation for any unused element of the Prize.
(vii) Once issued, airline tickets are non-transferable and may not be reissued. Open tickets may not be issued and stopovers are not permitted.
(viii) The winner or guest will be asked for a credit card on check in at the hotel to cover any extras and therefore must be able to provide one and cover these costs.
(ix) The Prize excludes all costs and expenses incurred by the winner and guest that are not expressly set out above, including: (a) additional transportation or transfers; (b) travel upgrades; (c) additional overnight accommodation; (d) meals and beverages; (e) travel and medical insurance, visas, ESTAs and any other required travel documents; (f) COVID-19 or other health-related testing, screening, immunisation and quarantine costs (if applicable); (g) discretionary spending; (h) hotel room service and in-room charges; and (i) tips and gratuities.
(x) Visa is not responsible for any COVID-19 or other health-related travel testing or restrictions applicable to the winner and/or guest, including, but not limited to any vaccination, quarantine or isolation-related costs or conditions. The winner and guest are responsible for ensuring that they adhere to all applicable COVID-19 or other health-related laws, rules, procedures and protocols relating to the Prize.
(xi) Prizes are subject to all applicable terms and conditions and policies of the relevant airport, transport service, hotel, ticket and event/venue providers. The winner and guest must comply fully with such terms and conditions, codes and policies and all laws and regulations applicable to the Prize. Visa will have no liability to the winner or guest if the winner and/or guest are unable to receive the full benefit of the Prize or are denied entry to, or are asked to leave, any venue or transport service as a result of a failure to abide by the applicable terms and conditions, codes, policies, any applicable law or as a result of inappropriate behaviour.
(xii) The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative is available. However, if it becomes necessary for reasons beyond Visa’s control, the Prize (or any element of the Prize) may be varied or swapped for a suitable alternative in Visa’s discretion.
9. Winner selection
All eligible entries will be entered into a random draw to select the winner on 11th June (the “Winner Selection Process”). The winners will be the entrants whose names are drawn at random from all eligible entries.
10. Winner notification
The winners will be notified by @visauk’s Instagram account via direct message on Instagram within five (5) days of the completion of the Winner Selection Process (the “Winner Notification Period”). Visa will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner, but it is the winner’s responsibility to look out for the notification.
11. Prize claims
The winner must claim the Prize within 5 (five) days of Visa’s win notification by providing all information requested by Visa for the purpose of verifying the winner’s eligibility and fulfilling the Prize (the “Claim Deadline”).
12. Travel bookings
All travel bookings will be arranged by Visa or its appointed agent, who will contact the winner to make the necessary arrangements after verification of a valid claim. The winner must provide all personal information requested for the purpose of making the necessary travel bookings. This will include the personal details and passport details of the winner and their guest, and the winner must have permission to provide the personal information of the guest. All relevant tickets, passes, vouchers and other paperwork will be provided by post or email in good time prior to departure. The travel party must present valid paperwork on arrival at the airport/train station and any relevant event or venue, failing which travel and entry may be refused. The winner and guests are solely responsible for the safekeeping of documentation.
13. No endorsement
The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with any third party, including Instagram or UEFA Women's EURO or their associated companies. By participating in the Promotion, entrants are providing information to Visa/the Agency, and not to any third party. All third-party trade marks and other intellectual property rights are hereby acknowledged.
14. Forfeiture and substitution
Visa reserves the right to disqualify the winner and select an alternative winner if the winner fails to claim the Prize and/or provide any requested information or documentation by the Claim Deadline, or if Visa has reason to believe that the winner does not meet the eligibility requirements or has otherwise breached these Terms. An alternative winner will be selected using the original selection process and must claim the Prize within five (5) days of the date of the win notification.
15. Tax
The winner is solely responsible for the reporting and payment of all applicable taxes (if any) arising from the acceptance of the Prize.
16. Liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, Visa, Visa’s group companies and affiliates and Visa’s agents, distributors and other representatives (“Promotion Parties”) will not be responsible or liable to compensate any entrant or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of entering the Promotion or taking up the Prize, except where caused by the breach of these Terms by the Promotion Parties or their negligence. The Promotion Parties accept no responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any person’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any matter in respect of which liability cannot be lawfully limited or excluded.
17. Liability of social media platforms
The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with any social media platform. All third-party trade marks and other intellectual property rights are hereby acknowledged. Entry to prize promotions via social media platforms is always subject to the rules, terms and policies of those social media platforms. By participating in this Promotion, entrants are providing information to Visa, not to the relevant social media platforms. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the relevant social media platforms shall have no liability to any person in connection with or arising out of the Promotion howsoever caused, including for any costs, expenses, damages and other liabilities, and each entrant releases the owners of the relevant social media platforms from any and all liability in relation to that entrant’s participation in the Promotion.
18. Cancellation and variation
Visa reserves the right to vary, suspend or cancel the Promotion and/or these Terms if it considers it necessary or appropriate to do so, including if there is any actual or anticipated breach of applicable law or if variation, suspension or cancellation is necessary due to an event outside Visa’s reasonable control. In the event of cancellation, Prizes may be awarded to winners drawn from entries received prior to cancellation.
19. Disqualification
Without limiting Visa’s options, Visa reserves the right at any time to disqualify entries or entrants that Visa regards as being in breach of these Terms, any applicable laws, any terms referred to in these Terms and/or the spirit of the Promotion.
20. Interference with the Promotion
Any attempt to damage or undermine the content or legitimate operation of the Promotion is prohibited and may also be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws. Visa reserves all its rights and remedies to deal with breaches or suspected breaches of this section including, without limitation, to exclude any entrant or winner believed to be associated with such activity.
21. Publicity
By entering the Promotion, each entrant agrees that, in the event of a win, Visa shall be entitled (but not obliged) to announce their name and/or social media handle on Visa’s websites and social media. Entrants may also be asked (without further reward) to take part in reasonable publicity connected with the Promotion.
22. Disclosure of winner’s details
By entering the Promotion, each entrant acknowledges that if they are a winner, their surname and county of residence may be disclosed to persons enquiring. Any entrant may object to their information being made available in this way, or may request that the amount of information made available be reduced, by contacting Visa (see below). In these circumstances, the entrant acknowledges that Visa may nevertheless disclose the relevant information, and the entrant’s entry, to the Advertising Standards Authority (and/or any other competent authority) if required to do so. By way of example, this may happen where Visa is required to demonstrate that it has awarded any advertised prizes. To request disclosure of winner details, enquirers must submit a request to [email protected] within one (1) month following the end of the Entry Period. Details will only be disclosed (if permitted by law) after all Prizes have been awarded.
23. Personal data
Entrants acknowledge that any personal data processed in connection with the Promotion will be processed in accordance with Visa’s Privacy Notice, which is available at www.visa.co.uk/legal/global-privacy-notice.html. The names of the winner and guest will also be provided to the relevant transport, hotel and event operators to facilitate the travel and event bookings. For more information about how these third parties will process personal data, please see their privacy notices, which are available on their websites.
24. Accessing these Terms
Any website on which these Terms are posted is only intended to be accessed from Great Britain and where permitted by law. Visa makes no representation that materials relating to the Promotion are appropriate or available for use at other locations. Access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is strictly prohibited.
25. Severance and waiver
If any part of these Terms is or becomes invalid or unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the rest of these Terms will not be affected. Visa’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
26. Disputes
Subject to the “Law and Jurisdiction” section, if there is a dispute about the Promotion or these Terms, Visa’s decisions are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. If there is a conflict between these Terms and any document referred to in these Terms, these Terms take precedence to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict.
27. Law and jurisdiction
The Promotion and these Terms are governed by English law, and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that residents of Scotland may also bring and defend claims in their home courts.
