Shanice is a Dutch striker, known for her fast pace on the pitch, as well as her unique style and interest in fashion off the pitch. After playing three and a half seasons at FC Twente, she signed with Liverpool where she played a total of 28 matches before moving to France to join top Division 1 Feminine side, Olympique Lyonnais.
In 2020 Van de Sanden announced she was moving to Germany to play in the Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg. At an international level, Shanice previously made her debut for the senior Netherlands team in 2008, and has since received a silver medal at the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ 2019as well as later being shortlisted for the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Award. Shanice is passionate about promoting women’s football as much as possible and was previously one of UEFA’s official ambassadors for Together #WePlayStrong campaign.
