Show us why
#WhereYouShopMatters to you

Visa’s Christmas TV advert features real, independent shopkeepers to inspire the nation to visit their high street and shop locally this Christmas. Now you have the chance to make your high street shop the star of Christmas too.

A prime-time advertising slot in the lead up to Christmas is ready and waiting for you. All you need to do is create your own version of Visa’s 2019 Christmas advert and enter Visa’s #WhereYouShopMatters Copycat Competition.

You’ve seen our high street stars, now it’s your time to shine!

Follow these simple steps to be in with a chance of seeing your business on prime-time TV:

  1. Make your own version of Visa’s 30” second Christmas advert to Queen’s ‘Somebody To Love’, featuring your independent business. You’ll need to sing over the original Queen version for this to be an eligible entry.
  2. You’ll need to ensure you have permission to feature any individuals/third parties or businesses in your video. The Model Waiver must be completed by all the individuals featured in your video and provided to Visa upon request.
  3. Share your video publicly using the @VisaUK handle and the hashtag #WhereYouShopMatters on your Twitter and/or Instagram.

The first 50 entrants that submit a valid entry will receive a £150 Visa pre-paid card. Please check the Full Terms and Conditions for further information.

Some important things to remember:

  • Enter between: 00:01 GMT 5th November 2019 and 23:59 GMT 1st December 2019.
  • Max one entry per Independent Business.
  • For music licensing reasons, entry videos will need to be removed from your social account(s) no later than 1st February 2020.
  • Entrants must have the permission of the independent business to enter and must be aged 18 or over.
  • Any individuals/third parties featured in your video must have completed the Model Waiver form. This will need to be provided to Visa upon request. If anyone featured in your video is under 18 they will need a parent or guardian to sign this waiver on their behalf.
  • Your video must not include third party brands (such as fashion logos/product manufacturers).
