1 Disneyland Resort Paris
Formerly known as Euro-Disneyland, the French offspring of America's favourite theme park is a clone of its parent, and has now been joined by the Walt Disney Studios complex. Both have big queues, so arrive early. There are rides for children of all ages and most adults are equally enchanted.

2 Parc de la Villette
One of the city's top child-ren's attractions, with activities for all ages. The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, a high-tech hands-on science museum, gets star billing, while the Cité des Enfants is a science and nature museum for younger children. Kids also love the Argonaute, a naval museum with a real submarine, the Géode with its IMAX screen and the Cité de la Musique, with musical activities for young people.

4 Grande Galerie de l'Evolution
The most exciting and imaginatively designed display in the Natural History Museum is the Great Gallery of Evolution. Elephants, giraffes and other stuffed animals rise out of a recreated savannah, a huge whale skeleton hangs from the ceiling, while special lighting displays help tell the story of the development of life on earth. Nature workshops are also held for children under 12.

5 Musée de la Curiosité et de la Magie
Kids are enchanted by this museum of magic, located in the atmospheric cellars of the former home of the Marquis de Sade. Magicians conjure up hourly shows involving optical illusions, card tricks and lots of audience participation. The exhibits include fun-house mirrors and memorabilia from master magicians such as Houdini (1874-1926).
