Fast just got faster with the contactless Visa card. Safe, secure and convenient, simply use your contactless Visa card for all your small value purchases (under £20), and be quickly on your way.
Every day, more banks are adding contactless technology to their Visa debit and Visa credit cards. Just look for the contactless indicator on the front of your current Visa card. If it’s there, you can start using your contactless Visa card right away. If not, get in touch with your bank and ask them about the contactless plans they have in place or keep an eye on the press for a contactless Visa card that you can apply for.
Using your contactless Visa card is easy. Simply look for the contactless symbol found at points of purchase in retailers nationwide. When you’re ready to make your purchase, hold your contactless Visa card in front of the contactless reader and, in less than a second, it will confirm whether your purchase has been accepted. You can quickly pay for anything £20 and under and, as an added security measure, you will occasionally be asked to provide your PIN.
Many retailers already support contactless Visa payments, and more are joining all of the time. Supporting retailers are likely to be found where purchases £20 and under are frequently made, such as restaurants, newsagents, and cafes. Simply look for the contactless symbol located at points of purchase in many of your favourite retailers.
Contactless Visa cards use the same secure technology as any other Visa chip and PIN cards. For a payment to be made, your retailer must enter an amount for you to approve, so duplicate payments cannot be made without your knowledge. Also, you will not be accidentally charged if you come too close to a contactless reader – in order for a transaction to be made, you must hold your card directly in front of the reader at precisely the right time.
Contactless card and mobile payments are set to change the way you pay.
Visa is accepted in millions of retail outlets worldwide. So wherever you are, simply look for the Visa logo.
