
Stefanie ‘Stef’ Reid is an amputee sprinter who competes for Great Britain in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump and is Britain’s only female amputee sprinter and strong medal prospect for London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Stef was born in New Zealand and raised in Canada as her parents worked in the hotel industry. Her mother heralds from Darlington and her father from Glasgow and she currently splits her time between her home in the USA and her training in London, a truly multi-cultural upbringing that has helped shape her fantastic personality.

Shanaze Reade began racing in 1998 at the age of ten, at Tipkinder Park in Crewe having bought her first BMX bike for £1 and instantly fell in love with the sport.
She had previously excelled at Athletics but wanted something different to her staple events of 100 metre sprinting and the shotput and BMX gave Shanaze the chance to combine her strengths. In 2005 Shanaze raced the National series with the men all year, despite being only 17 years old and become number two in Great Britain.
