Visa Personal Payments
Visa Personal Payments is a new service from Visa that enables
you to send money directly from your mobile phone to another person
quickly and securely.
All you need to know is the other person’s mobile phone number,
so there’s no need to share account information.
The entire process is managed from within a mobile app provided
by your bank, meaning you can be confident that your details are
safe.
A Visa debit, credit or prepaid card can be used to collect the
payment.
Sending Money
Visa Personal Payments is offered by banks, either as a
standalone app for your mobile or integrated into their existing
mobile products.
Once enabled, customers can chose who they want to send a
payment to by simply selecting the intended recipient’s mobile
phone number from within the app.
They also choose the amount they wish to send and enter a
personal message.
Once the details are confirmed, a text message is sent
automatically to the recipient, containing a unique link that takes
them through to a secure webpage where they can enter their details
to collect the payment.
Collecting Money
Anyone with a web-enabled mobile phone or access to the
internet, and a Visa card, can collect payments from Visa Personal
Payments.
Any type of Visa card can be used to collect payments including
a Visa debit, credit or Prepaid card or Visa Electron.
When someone sends you money using the Visa Personal Payments
service you will receive a text message containing a unique
link.
You’ll then be asked to fill in a few details to collect your
money.
